AW Lake have just launched the portable CUTT transit time ultrasonic flow meter, to add to their full-sized clamp-on model, which provides precise, non-contact flow measurements, even in the harshest of conditions. This instrument is easy to deploy, saving the end-user time, money and interrupting the process. It is ideal for precise flow measurement of chemicals and water.

This hand-held device is housed in a tough IP67 rated enclosure and operates with the same 3 interchangeable transducers as the full-sized instrument, making it ideal for taking measurements on plastic and metal pipes ranging from ½” to 48” – or 15 mms to 1200 mms diameters. An easy-to-use menu helps operators program the liquid to be monitored, along with pipe size and material. Optional Modbus and HART communications facilitate instantaneous results for measuring run hours, flow rate, volume and total, with 4-20mA/0-5V analogue output included as standard.

This device also features an intuitive on-screen user interface with a data logger, which provides end-users access to current flow reports and allows them the logged data to be utilised with other programs. It also provides data management storage of  up to 12.5M data points and logger software for viewing data and reporting. With an integrated USB-C port, the flow meter can easily expand input and output capabilities so future flow meter requirements can be met, without having to replace the instrument.

AW Lake’s new flowmeters operate using the transit time ultrasonic principle of measurement. The flight differences measured between transducers is precisely calculated – by timing the period between transmitting and receiving the signals.
