Green County restaurant inspection from November 4th to 10th

Depending on the type of food provided, the population provided, the level of difficulty of food preparation, and past history, food agencies in Greene County undergo one to three inspections a year.

The problems found in the inspection are divided into two categories: priority and non-priority. Priority violations are issues that may have a direct impact on food safety, and if they persist, they may cause restaurants to close. Non-priority violations usually focus on sanitation or building maintenance.

The following is information provided by the Springfield-Green County Health Department regarding restaurant inspections in the past 7 days:

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar, 1855 E. Primrose St. 11/08/2021-routine inspection; result: activated. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Arby's Roast Beef Restaurant #0136, 735 S. Glenstone Ave. 11/05/2021-routine inspection; result: activated. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Arby's Roast Beef Restaurant #7725, 1833 W. Republic Road. 11/08/2021-Routine inspection; result: activated. Discussion: 1. The mop must be kept clean. 2. Hand washing signs are required in women's restrooms. 3. The trash can in the women's bathroom has not been opened. 4. Develop a cleaning plan, especially around the fryer. Priority violations found: 1. Disinfectant was observed in the 100ppm 3-compartment sink test. Correction: Before washing new dishes, 200-400ppm of new disinfectant must be provided. Non-priority violations found: 0.

Arna's Food Mart, 4912 W. Chestnut Expressway. 11/05/2021-Routine inspection; result: activated. Clint was the person in charge of the inspection. We did extract some food from unapproved sources. Priority violations found: 1. Observation: Several meat items for sale were brought in from personal homes rather than from approved sources. Some containers are flavored and glazed nuts made in personal homes rather than in permitted kitchens. These were quickly removed from customer service. Non-priority violations found: 1. Observation: Water heater leaks and flows to the floor.

Bingham Elementary, 2126 E. Cherry St. 11/09/2021-routine inspection; result: activated. No violations were found during the inspection. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0

Bissett School, 3014 W. Calhoun St. 11/04/2021-routine inspection; result: active. Marty is the person in charge of the inspection. No violations were found. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0.

Braum's Ice Cream #274, 604 N. Glenstone Ave. 11/10/2021-recheck; result: activated. Priorities have been corrected-use of public health controls on milk installations until the time of replacement. The small cube cooler moved to the core violation. Priority violations found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 1. The cooler was observed to stop running and moved from priority to core because there is no PHF stored in it. Store only non-PHF in the device until repaired, such as a shelf-stable dressing pack.

Bubba's BBQ, 504 N. West Bypass. 11/04/2021-Compliance Check 2; Result: Compliance. Priority violations found: 1. Observation: The concentration of chlorine disinfectant in three large tanks was found to exceed 100 ppm. The chlorine disinfectant should be 50 ppm to 100 ppm. Correct when checking. Non-priority violations found: 2. Observation: The lights in the corridor storage area and the walk-in cooler were not shielded. Observation: The outer door does not fully close automatically, you can see the sunlight on the bottom and sides.

Cielito Lindo, 3530 S. Campbell Ave. 11/08/2021-Routine inspection; result: re-inspection allowed. Priority violations found: 1. Observation: Food with a temperature higher than 41F in front of the counter cooler. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Common Grounds Coffee & Cafe, LLC, 100 E. Pine St. 11/05/2021-recheck; result: activated. Priorities have been corrected. All food is kept at the proper temperature. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Corporate Dining Concepts, 2645 N. Airport Plaza Ave. 11/10/2021-routine inspection; result: activated. Ryan was the person in charge during the initial inspection. They need quaternary ammonium test strips for the issuance of permits and plan to get them today. Priority violations found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 1. Observation: The staff could not find the quaternary ammonia test strip for checking the disinfection solution.

Early childhood education center, star-studded. 11/08/2021-Routine inspection; result: activated. No violations were found during the inspection. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0.

El Taco, 316 W. Kearney St. 11/04/2021-Routine inspection; result: active. Discussed the cleaning frequency of floors, walls and equipment, and can openers. It is necessary to install a thermometer in the refrigeration unit and clean the ice maker more frequently. Disposable items are required to be stored 6" from the floor. Appropriate cooling methods are discussed. The requirement to discard food past the discard date is discussed. Priority violations found: 1. Observation: Insufficient disinfectant in the wipe bucket . Correct the intensity by emptying the bucket and refilling it in an appropriate place. Non-priority violations found: 1. Observation: The diced tomatoes and cheese shreds are not placed in a shallow pan to promote proper cooling. Food is placed at a higher rate. In the cold unit, rapid cooling is used and correction is made through the education of the cooling process.

Golden Estates, 1134 W. Norton Road. 11/09/2021-Routine inspection; result: activated. There were no violations during the inspection. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Hardee's, 1515 W. Battlefield Road. 11/09/2021-Routine inspection; result: activated. No violations were found. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0.

Harter House, Deli/Meat Strafford, 421 E. Old Route 66 Highway, Strafford. 11/05/2021-Routine inspection; result: activated. Discussed the requirements for cooking and cooling meals, the need for disinfectant test strips and proper storage of chemicals, and proper storage of raw meat. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Horace Mann School, 3745 S. Broadway Ave. 11/09/2021-Routine inspection; result: re-inspection allowed. Priority violations found: 2. Observation: Rat droppings were found in the back-up room/office area. It was observed that the food was kept at a temperature above 41F in the extended cooler. Non-priority violations found: 0.

Joe's Route 66 Diner, 201 E. Chestnut St., Strafford. 11/05/2021-Recheck; Result: activated. Priorities have been corrected. All food is kept at the proper temperature. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Calle, 640 West Gonghe Road. 11/04/2021-Routine inspection; Result: activated. Priority violations found: 1. Observe that the shrimp on the top of the pre-cooler is stored above the 45-46F storage limit. Correct by moving to the bottom of the pre-cooler. Provide education for sushi chefs. Non-priority violations discovered: 1. Agitators stored in the kitchen sink were observed. The agitator is immediately removed and washed, rinsed and disinfected in the dishwasher. correct.

McDonald's 2321, 2220 N. Glenstone Ave. 11/08/2021-recheck; result: activated. Priority and core items corrected from routine inspections: cube drawer coolers below 41F. The ice machine does not leak water (the rubber shelf cover has been ordered according to the manager's request). The food contact surface of the pan is clean. Use the dishwasher at 50 ppm chlorine as needed. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0.

McDonald's 2321, 2220 N. Glenstone Ave. 11/04/2021-Routine inspection; result: re-inspection allowed. Priority violations found: 3. Several amber pans were observed with food accumulation on the surface after cleaning and disinfection. The items are placed in a 3-tank sink for immediate cleaning. correct. Observe the dishwasher with zero ppm chlorine. The disinfection tablet container is empty. The manager added immediately. After the correction, the residual chlorine content is now 50 ppm, which meets the requirements. The drawer handle cooler at the end of the cooking line was observed to store breakfast burritos at 47 degrees Fahrenheit. The burritos are discarded voluntarily. Non-priority violations found: 2. Mexico Villa Comida, 434 S. Glenstone Ave. 11/09/2021-routine inspection; result: re-inspection allowed. Priority violations found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 4. A dent in disrepair on the exterior wall of the walk-in cooler next to the 3-cylinder sink and the dent on the opposite wall of the 3-cylinder sink separated from the wall were observed. panel. Stratford Elementary School, 201 W. McCabe St. Strafford. 11/05/2021-Recheck; Result: activated. Priorities have been corrected. Dish the dishwasher at the appropriate final rinse water temperature. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Taco Bell #036366, 3860 W. Sunshine St. 11/05/2021-routine inspection; result: activated. No violations. Priority violation found: 0. Non-priority violations found: 0. 

Van Gogh's Eeterie, 334 E. Commercial St. 11/09/2021-routine inspection; result: re-inspection allowed. Need to recheck to check that the cooler temperature is 41F or below. Discussion: 1. Use the provided temperature log to record the refrigeration temperature. 2. Be sure to preheat the steaming pan before adding food. 3. Frequently use suitable test strips to check the disinfectant. 4. Consumer advice must have instructions next to items that are offered raw or undercooked, linking them to the consumer advice text at the bottom of the menu. 5. When the food comes out of the refrigerator, make sure that they are immediately and correctly dated. Priority violations found: 3. Observed in the steam table: white gravy at 107F, vegetable stew at 110, and brown gravy at 134F. Employees adjust the steam table to a higher temperature on site. The staff moved the stew and white gravy to the stove to reheat. The brown gravy remains in the steam meter and the temperature has been adjusted to a higher level. The following refrigeration violations were observed: In the open top-line cooler: cut leafy vegetables at 56F, cut salad at 51F, cut patties at 56F, cut shrimp at 56F, cut tomatoes at 56F, cut chicken salad at 55F, 56F Minced beef and chicken salad is at 55F. Bar cooler-2 door glass: 45F milk, 47F Greek yogurt, 47F beet hummus and 45F air. Server cooler: 60F oat milk, 50F half and half, 50F air. The owner said that when they came this morning, the circuit breaker had tripped and the cooler was not working. The owner said that they did not measure the temperature in any unit today. The owner voluntarily discards all potentially dangerous foods that exceed the temperature. Discussed the temperature records of all refrigeration equipment. The log is emailed to the owner. Need to recheck. Observed employees took off their gloves and put on new gloves without first washing their hands. Then employees put on gloves to handle the crepes. Correct by voluntarily discarding food and gloves. Then employees wash their hands and put on new gloves before returning to work. Provide education. Non-priority violations found: 1. The walk-in cooler was observed to shut off the cold water at the hand sink. The water temperature of the faucet: 144F. The owner said that the faucet was leaking, so they turned off the cold water to that faucet. Fix the faucet.

Walnut Grove school cafeteria, 300 E. College St. Walnut Grove. 11/09/2021-Routine inspection; result: activated. Shannon was in charge of the inspection.
