When I think of toys, somehow, the Toys”R”Us theme song “I don’t wanna grow up, I’m a Toys R Us kid” automatically comes to mind, and the feeling you get at The Joy of Toys is exactly that.
A haven for kids, here’s where you can bring the kiddos to a speciality indoor playground in Singapore with a huge selection of toys where admission is from S$8 per hour (you can check admission rates here!).
With a mission to “provide a fun and relaxing recreational area where families can enjoy toys with high play value”, there are three play areas in total, the Main Play Space, Toddler Play Space and the Riding Room.
Perfect for preschoolers and school-aged children, the Main Play Space offers a Structured Play section with developmental toys, family games and brain teasers, and an Open-Ended Play section that encourages role-play through miniature, doll and food play. (The toys in the Main Play Space are also rotated on a monthly basis based on selected themes too!)
If your child is a little younger though, bring them over to the Toddler Play Space instead, great for crawling babies and toddlers learning to walk! Here’s where they’ll be able to explore and play with age-appropriate toys in a safe and baby-proofed area.
Alternatively, you can also bring your kids to the nature-themed Riding Room, a newer playroom filled with mechanical vehicles (leg-powered) so your young’uns, especially toddlers just learning to walk, can easily roll around on Wheely Bugs and wooden trikes.
Apart from the dedicated play areas, there are also family-friendly facilities from the baby-care room and diaper bag lockers to feeding chairs and a beverage area with chilled drinks and light snacks for children, as well as hot & cold water dispenser.
