Whether they are cat lovers or dog lovers, the editors of the Madison Leadership Bulletin have quite a few of our fur babies. With all the comfort and happiness our pets give us, especially in the past year, we think they are as worthy of gifts as any other family member this holiday season. Here is a list of things we offer to our furry little friends, and we think your pets will also like these things.

You can buy the cutest and most squeaky toys for your pet, but you know they won’t last forever: your dog will eventually tear the strongest stuffed toy into pieces. You can at least stay ahead with a Barkbox subscription, which will provide a themed box full of interesting toys and delicious food once a month. The themes will make you laugh, and your dog will like to have a packaging that suits them. — Kris Naudus, Buyer's Guide Editor

Before last year, my husband and I usually bought cat food at the grocery store during our weekly shopping. Then, at some point during the lockdown, all cat food was suddenly sold out. When I was browsing the Internet for delivery, I came across CatPerson, a cat food subscription service. Most importantly, the food looks high-quality, uses natural ingredients, and has a protein content of 50% higher than industry standards. I decided to give it a try and my family has not looked back. The cat absolutely loves it, we like it has 16 different flavors, so she will never get bored. Bonus: The delivery box can be easily converted into a toy or kitten hut for cats to play with. — Nicole Lee, Senior Editor

When I saw this for the first time, $80 felt like a splurge on buying a piece of cat furniture, and I wasn't even sure if my kitten would be willing. But after working with "The Lift" of Catastrophic Creations for more than a year, I am very happy that I took this opportunity. The wall-mounted hammock is well-made and comes in a variety of colors and finishes for you to match your existing decorations. Most importantly: my cat absolutely likes to have her own space a few feet above the sofa, where she can nap in the sun and judge us silently from above. The company also produces a range of other wall-mounted cat furniture, so you can build a complete elevated playground with mini Indiana Jones-style rope bridges, scratching posts, and feeding stations. But even if you are not ready (or just lack wall space), the cat hammock is the best of the two: a comfortable nap spot and a new place to go when the zoom lens comes. — Karissa Bell, Senior Editor

Cats generally like to drink flowing water; if you have ever seen your kitten splash her water in a bowl, that's why. This is one of the reasons why many people recommend buying a drinking fountain for your cat. We finally got the Catit Senses 2.0 flower fountain for our little ones. It has three different water flow settings and a three-effect filter to help ensure that the water is as fresh as possible. Most importantly, we like that it looks like a small plastic flower pot. — Dutch

In my house, we nicknamed this bed "hot tub" because our cat likes to sit here for a few hours, especially in winter. The K&H bed is simple, but very effective. There is a built-in heating pad hidden under the bed to keep it at a comfortable (and safe) temperature at all times. The lid is also removable, so it is easy to clean, which is a good thing when your cat stays in it for a few hours a day. — Knowledge Base

From the affordable Cam to the more luxurious Bites 2, PetCube offers several different pet camera models, but we like the balance between Bites 2 Lite's price and features. You will get a snack dispenser with a 1080p camera with automatic night vision and 8x digital zoom. It also supports two-way audio. Bites 2 Lite does not have Alexa built-in, but it is very likely that you don't need Amazon's voice assistant on the device you use to check your pets when they are a good kid or girl. — Igor Bonafacic, Associate Editor

If your dog is the same as mine, they are mostly fluffy and easily thirsty on warm, sunny days. After trying several different dog-specific water bottles, I found that PetKit travel bottles are very suitable to help my canine partner stay hydrated. It only costs $13, but it can hold up to 14 ounces of liquid and has a clever design to limit spillage. The silicone gasket and lock ring also help ensure that the bottle does not leak into your backpack. I take it almost every time I walk with my dog, and he always seems grateful when he can drink it. — International Baccalaureate Organization

My husband and I like our cat very much, but boy, will her poop stinks in the joints? After seeing PrettyLitter's advertisement on the Internet, we decided to give it a try and see if it helps us. Fortunately, it does, and there are more. Not only does it have super-absorbent silicon crystals that absorb odors, but it actually changes color to tell you if your cat has any urinary tract problems. Of course, this is not a substitute for going to the vet, but it is nice to know the health of your cat. Since litter is very effective in maintaining odor, we found that we actually use less litter than before, which helps reduce waste. In addition, our cat seems to like it too. Most importantly, the company provides a subscription service that will deliver a new package to your door every month. — Dutch

Ruffwear Dog Cooling Vest is ideal for hiking and camping enthusiasts in warm climates, and it is very simple to use. Dip the vest in the water, wring it out and buckle it on your dog-and that's it, your partner is ready to run around in the sun. The Ruffwear vest has a level of UV protection of 50 and has a built-in belt groove and a three-layer design that promotes evaporative cooling. Its size ranges from xx-small to x-large, and the price is about $60, which is about as many as Patagonia sweatshirts (for humans). — Jessica Condit, Senior Editor

I hope your pet is too comfortable in this bag and won't mind that it is called a "Muttmover". This backpack from Timbuk2 is designed to carry your dog (or cat, we guess), their water bowl, and even your own gadgets, with padded shoulder straps and plenty of external pockets. The main bag has a zipper hole that is big enough for your pet's head to pierce through when you walk, and the entire front panel can be zippered for easy removal. The interior is easy to wipe, made of durable, tear-resistant nylon fabric, and even comes with a foldable dog bowl. — JC
