Thanks to the new Gyroids, "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" players used the game to recreate the SpongeBob SquarePants "I don't need it" meme.

A player in Animal Crossing: New Horizons uses the game’s new Gyroids by recreating classic SpongeBob cartoon moments and memes. Gyroids is just one of the many new features recently introduced to the 2020 game through the November Animal Crossing 2.0 update, which provides fans with many new ways to remake movies, shows, and memes.

Fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons have been looking forward to new game content for some time, and the latest game update did not disappoint. Players have been enjoying new features such as farming and cooking, but the game has also seen the return of many favorite characters and collectibles from the series. Gyroids is the main product of the entire series. It is collectible, musical, and decorative character items that can be found underground or grown by Gyroid Fragments in the Nintendo Switch game. Despite being synonymous with the game, Gyroids only came to ACNH in November this year.

Twitter user and Animal Crossing fan PetrarchEleven quickly became popular after sharing their re-creation of one of SpongeBob’s greatest memes: the "I don't need it" meme from the classic cartoon series "Tree Top Tea." In the show, SpongeBob tries to resist a tempting glass of water in the face of dehydration, and the character looks like a cracked and dry sponge. PetrarchEleven reimagined this unforgettable meme, a wrinkled Gyroid playing the role of SpongeBob Squarepants, staring at the water dispenser. This lively entertainment has taken social media by storm and has received more than 40,000 likes at the time of writing.

Those who wish to recreate the animal crossing meme should find it fairly easy to do so, and the biggest obstacle is getting the right Gyroid. The user has a Crumpoid playing SpongeBob, imitating the dehydrated character. Although it may take some time to obtain the same Gyroid, all ACNH Gyroids have the same rarity, which means that players are as likely to find Crumploid as any other Gyroid. Then, the meme creator made an infusion water dispenser, placed two objects on simple natural wooden furniture, and recreated Sandy Cheek's home where the scene took place using grass floor and sky wallpaper.

PetrarchEleven is not the first animal crossing player to use the new 2.0 update to create memes. This update adds more than 9,000 new items for fans to be creative, as well as new home design features and new professional camera applications. Combining these, playing a bird's-eye view and tripod camera lens, provides players with more entertainment possibilities. Players have recently created an animal crossing meme from shows and games including the Silent Hill 3 bread scene.
